What Have We Been Up To In 2024!
Our Mission
The Dakota Foundation for Bipolar Awareness is committed to providing resources, support, and understanding for individuals and families affected by bipolar disorder. Through partnerships, educational resources, and community events, we aim to promote awareness, encourage empathy, and provide direct assistance to those in need. Our goal is to support as many individuals as possible and their families, together with all the counselling and tools that are needed to deal with bipolar disorder. Our financial needs for 2025 are $10,000 per month as requested by Healthy Essentials Clinic.
Our Impact and Programs
- Funding for Mental Health Counseling
Through a partnership with Healthy Essentials Clinic, we provide essential counseling services to families impacted by bipolar disorder. Currently, we are able to fund counseling for 15
individuals and families, with 6 additional individuals and families waiting for support. Our mission is to expand this capacity to help more families access the care they need.
- Weekly Information and Resources
With an email network of over 900 subscribers, the Dakota Foundation provides valuable weekly information on bipolar disorder, covering topics like symptom management, treatment options, and family support. This outreach has made a significant positive impact, with numerous recipients sharing stories of how these resources have improved their lives.
- Support from the International Bipolar Foundation
We are proudly partnered with the International Bipolar Foundation, which supplies books, informational resources, and materials for our events. This collaboration strengthens our ability to support our community and provide up-to-date information for those affected by bipolar disorder.
